Intel Will Lay Off 15000 Real Engineers: The Bulgarian Predictions about the Semiconductor industry

A funny part from the "Bulgarian Predictions" (or Bulgarian Prophecies) which were mostly about AGI, AI, Theory of Universe and Mind,  generative AI, the phenomenon that "Creative intelligence will be first surpassed and blown-away by the thinking machines ... and intellectual work will be done in 1 ms for free - the smart "asses" will be useless - not that we WERE useful before that" (2013)

Yesterday I realized another prophecy of mine, which guessed one exact number* in the pilot episode of  my satirical comics series "Super Smartasses", that presented the world of the Semiconductor industry  in late 2000s.

First drawn and published in the summer of 2012 (colorized recently with Gemini)

MENTEL and AND lay off 15K Real Engineers!

On 1.7.2008 the newspaper reports (with filled words for more complete syntax):

" ... The VP of Mentel ... Sorry, I need to save ... I wish them all the best - they are real professioals" - the VP said ... The financial crisys ... World economy ... New Cure 2 CPUs ... But Banks ...
 Low Sales ... Revenue
...

Next Issue will be with a reduced print of 15K - pre-order NOW!

Vice President's Private Island

 (...)"

Another fake prophet and a silly "expert" predicting the obvious after it happened - the automation of intellectual work before the physical etc.

That silly "authoritative" "executive" alarmist with a ridiculous theatrical dramatical parody-like facial expression, LOL, explains the obvious decades after the prophets explained it well, already in 2013 to earlier fake experts with their wrong predictions (see footnote).

AGI itself was theoretically understood and explained by 2001-2004 as you can see in the Theory of Universe and Mind and the related future (now present) works, which rediscovered, implemented it, proved it and made it reality.

https://www.finalroundai.com/blog/mo-gawdat-says-ai-will-replace-software-developers

One thing which these pitiful executive uncles don't get is transhumanism and that the economical system is inadequate per se. So they were working in "innovations", but what they and other ape-like ones like them is to freeze everything as it is, forever "progress" but doing the same :))), i.e. they should stay at their "executive" position, the "coders" code, the cleaners clean the floor etc.

The "jobs" are fake anyway,  without AI they still were fake. Most of the programmers in particular were doing nonsense for decades, they were and are not creative; programmers are copy-pasting and doing the same thing over and over without noticing that it's the same (or without admitting it, as this activity serves their aims and they should better keep silence about it).

That was pretty obvious for many other "less intellectual" office jobs for decades or for centuries - activities which were and are notorious for their "mechanical" nature of checking files, searching in catalogs, writing useless memos and "communications", following the trivial and useless or repetitive  "protocols" etc. for the sake of following the protocols.

A lot of production is nonsense either, advertising industry existing to sell goods which else wouldn't be needed and the "targets" wouldn't know that they needed them; educational systems preparing robots to fit in the social hierarchy and do what they are told and as they are told and serving the right authority and preserving the structure forever; "entertainment" industry with ridiculous "creative" copy-pasted stereotypes and templates, tons of "creative writing" (in the past) which is reflecting the obvious.

The system, world, universe was creating and is creating "needs" in order to preserve itself as it is (see FEP/AIF and the Appendix on Science Fiction and Cybernetics in The Prophets of The Thinking Machines).

Self-evolving intelligence - right, but not just their way. See "Creating Thinking Machines" (future work).

Creative Intelligence will be First Surpassed and Blown Away by the Thinking Machines, not the "low-skill" workers whose jobs require agile and quick physical motion and interactions with human-sized and human-shaped environment | Творческата интелигентност първа ще бъде надмината и издухана от мислещите машини, а не "нискоквалифицирания" труд

The Godfather of AI repeats ideas of the Child Prodigy of the Thinking Machines 24-22 years later

The Godfather of AI is *reproducing* ideas of the Child Prodigy of the Thinking Machines 24-22 years later*: *(Part I of the matches):

The Child: Todor Arnaudov, 17 years old, 12.2001, from: "Man and Thinking Machine: an Analysis of the Possibility of Creating a Thinking Machine and Some Shortcomings of Humans and Organic Matter in Comparison to it.", The Sacred Computer,
#13 (translated from Bulgarian with ChatGPT): "[before the citation begins, there are definitions about consciousness, related to what's now popular as an easier problem of consciousness" - intelligence as cognitive capabilities, behavior etc. vs the "hard" problem - spiritual, subjective experience etc. - see the work, the Theory of Universe and Mind etc.]):

"... If this is what consciousness is, then the thinking machine will undoubtedly have it. But if consciousness is the 'feeling of sensory perceptions,' then intelligent behavior does not necessarily mean the presence of consciousness, just as the lack of intelligence cannot prove the absence of consciousness. Personally, I am not entirely sure that consciousness in the sense of the 'feeling' of thoughts and emotions—experienced the way we humans (including myself) feel it—is solely the result of the joint activity of billions of neurons in the brain, of the complexity of their connections, and so on. It's easy to ask: where exactly is our 'self' located? Maybe 'we' are in the totality of billions of neurons? Fine — but if we remove one neuron from the whole (something that happens constantly, as neurons continuously die and are not replaced), and then another, and another, and so on — at what point do we cross the boundary after which a person will lose their self-awareness, will no longer feel what is happening, even though their external behavior still suggests that they do?", Todor Arnaudov, 17 years old, 2001

The Godfather (and Grandfather):
* Geoffrey Hinton, 77 years old, June 2025 in an interview:

"Godfather of AI: I Tried to Warn Them, But We’ve Already Lost Control! Geoffrey Hinton",The Diary Of A CEO

https://youtu.be/giT0ytynSqg?t=3939 Transcript from Youtube:

" suppose i take your brain and i take one brain cell in

1:05:44: your brain and i replace it by this a bit black mirror-l like i replace it by

1:05:50: a little piece of nanotechnology that's just the same size that behaves in exactly the same way when it gets pings

1:05:56: from other neurons it sends out pings just as the brain cell would have so the other neurons don't know anything's

1:06:02: changed okay i've just replaced one of your brain cells with this little piece of nanotechnology; would you still be

1:06:08: conscious now you can see where this argument is going yeah so if you replaced all of them as i replace them all at what point do you stop being conscious?

--> The matches continue ... (At least two important points and I didn't watch the whole)

* The Godfather or the Grandfather - both are true in the context of the "Child", LOL.

An AI joke:

How the Godfather knows ... -- this will go to another post or a short on Youtube; also do you know why Connor ... well - maybe you'll guess, but verify it later.

Оригинал на български (the bold font is from the original text):

* Notes+: The other matches were about the advantages of the computers ("neural networks" in Hinton's word) - the vast bitrate compared the the dozens of bits per humans (see the same Man and Thinking Machines, the original AI strategy from 2003. (...)

56:30: Running on different substrates (immortal computation), Cloning the same intelligence ("The Truth", 2002; The first AI strategy, 2003; Man and Thinking Machine ..., 2001)

43: "mundane intellectual work" is replaced - predicted here in 2013 (not only the mundane)

1:01: The confusion how "creative" and unique humans are etc.

(I'm not sure about his conviction about the subjective experience of the chatbots, though - it depends how it isdefined; this is "mindification", see Universe and Mind 6. )
